To Our Heroes on the Front Lines

Updated: Aug 23, 2020

The events of the past few weeks have put us all to the test. The entire world has come together to face the greatest global health threat of our lifetime. Since this began, we have deployed an unprecedented number of resources to slow the spread of the virus, treat the sick, and keep our economy afloat.  Our government has taken strong and decisive action during this crisis, and I commend our nonprofit organizations for helping those most in need as well as the many Good Samaritans who have donated resources to this ongoing fight. So many have come together for the common good, and despite the devastating toll this pandemic has had on our state and country, I believe it has brought out the best in many of us. Speaking of the best, I would like to call attention to the heroes of the COVID-19 crisis - our healthcare professionals and our first responders. To put one's own health and safety at risk for others takes a person of true integrity, determination, compassion, and courage. Were it not for these brave individuals, this virus would have claimed even more lives and would have taken a far greater toll on all of us. On behalf of my family and the 151st General Assembly District, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical and occupational therapists, medical technicians, hospital and clinical staff, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, volunteers, and so many others for your heroic service to our communities.  Our country has overcome immense challenges before, and it will overcome this one because we have the best and brightest on the front lines. Please keep up the fight, and know we appreciate everything you do. Sincerely, State Representative Harry Arora 151st General Assembly District Greenwich
